Design of Miniaturized FSS with High Angular Stability Utilizing a Novel Closed Loop

In this paper, we propose a miniaturized 2.5-dimensional (2.5D) frequency selective surface (FSS) structure with high angular stability. A novel closed-loop FSS is formed by combining the Jerusalem cross (JC) conventional rectangular closed loop using vias. This approach further enhances coupling performance of and thus achieves design. The unit cell size proposed 0.019λ0 × at resonant frequency, metal printed on dielectric substrate thickness 0.003λ0. has 850 MHz exhibits band-stop characteristics. It insensitive to incident angle good operating in both TE TM wave modes. Therefore, it can be well used as an electromagnetic shield for GSM band. order facilitate rapid analysis design FSS, equivalent circuit model analyzed established, values corresponding lumped components are derived. addition, prototype fabricated board technology tested microwave anechoic chamber. full-wave simulation, practical measurement results reflect level consistency.
